I think smoothie bowls will be be my new breakfast favourite! Packed with goodness and topped with crunchy goodies, it sure beats having jam on toast for the fifth day straight.
So what is a smoothie bowl? It's exactly as it sounds - smoothie in a bowl, with the addition of some fresh fruit, nuts or anything else that takes your fancy. Usually I down my smoothie standing at the bench, while cleaning my Nutri Ninja blender. A smoothie bowl however... it forces me to sit, eat and enjoy, even just for five minutes. A slow, quick breakfast.
This recipe is based on Pete Evans' Green Goodness Smoothie, with the addition of some crunchy bits on top. But really, you can whip up your favourite smoothie flavours and pop a few crunchy bits on top, grab a spoon and dig in!
